Northern California

For Memorial Day weekend, Miles and I flew up to Northern California to visit his sister, her husband and our niece. They live in Dublin and it's gorgeous there...so much open space and brand new homes. But, the best part was spending time with our adorable niece.

I was 16 and a junior in high school. I had just met Miles. I was a cheerleader. Umm, unfortunately my mind is blanking as to what else was going on.

Graduating from law school.

Wicked! and a new baby

Most of the weekend was spent in Claremont due to my college reunion. So, we took the time to visit one of Miles' best friends from high school, Adam. Adam and his wife Andrea (she was in my class in high school while Adam was in Miles') just had a baby a month ago. Aidan is absolutely adorable! We had a great time visiting with the three of them.

Sunday I went to see Wicked at the Pantages with my mom and my grandparents. It was amazing. Can't decide which was better...Jersey Boys in NY or Wicked here. Spend the money, see the show, it was great. Who knew that the Wicked Witch isn't really dead!

By the way...I would post pictures, but our computer died last night. So, I'm on my laptop...but our pictures are on the completely dead computer...technology at its best.

I'm getting old - My 5 Year College Reunion

This weekend was my 5 year college reunion. I understand that most people don't have college reunions, but considering I went to a school with a student body of around 1200, there are college reunions. I paid for tickets (which were not cheap) several months ago. They sent a list out of the alumni that would be there last week. I knew 3 people on the list. How is that possible??? My class was 250. None of my friends were coming! Luckily I had only signed up for the class dinner. So, dreadingly (is that a word?), Miles and I went. I literally knew the 3 people there that had been on the list...but...it turns out that one of them is an attorney now in West LA. Job possibility? Maybe. So, Miles and I spent the night talking to the attorney and her husband and then went home. Exciting? No. Beneficial? Maybe.

I just had an entire post done with pictures and everything...and for some reason I couldn't figure out how to post it correctly. As soon as I clicked publish, it would eliminate all of my formatting! I gave up and just deleted it. So, here I am trying again with a new post.

Two weekends ago, Miles and I went to this newlywed camp for the weekend. As much as I was dreading it (Miles' mom wanted us to go), it was really fun and we met another couple that lives a couple blocks away from us.

Mother's Day and a bachelor party?

Well I guess I should update this now that we are officially linked to somebody else's blog...thanks Lindsey. I actually think that it's a great way to stay in touch and it somehow seems a little safer than myspace (which I never update anyway).

I am currently visiting my parents since Miles is going to a bachelor party this weekend in Vegas. Can you believe somebody planned a bachelor party Mother's Day weekend? Anybody remember Vinny (CHS '97)? He's getting married in a couple weeks and Miles is a groomsman. Anyway, I'm sure the weekend will consist of gambling, alcohol and strippers (everything Miles' bachelor party wasn't...since he was "boring" according to some people).

Actually, on a side note, my bachelorette party was in San Francisco. It was a blast. One evening, Miles' sister kept calling Miles and telling him how much I was drinking (guys kept buying us drinks). Miles didn't believe her...for good reason. If anybody knows me well, you know I rarely touch alcohol let alone drink a lot. Therefore, I have an extremely low tolerance and would be in the bathroom very very sick if I had actually drunk (drank?) all the shots bought for me. So...I was handing all of my shots to Amanda when nobody was looking. What happened you ask... A very sick Amanda appeared the next morning! There are also a few stories about my sister getting into these bars/clubs (since she's not quite "of age" yet)...more on that in the future.

In other more current news:

My sister is on her way home from college in Colorado. She will be spending the next year studying abroad...yes I'm jealous. In the fall she'll be on Semester at Sea. If you've never heard of this, check it out online. It's an amazing trip where you spend the semester traveling around the world on a cruise ship, stopping in all kinds of places you're not likely to ever go back to (Croatia anyone?) Then in the spring, she'll be in Italy!!! Can't believe she'll be in my favorite country of all time and I probably won't be able to visit...it's that money thing again!

Hmm...maybe one of these days I can figure out how to post pictures. It can't be that hard, right?
